Avigilon provides advanced features such as Appearance search and Unusual Motion Detection via their Analytic powered cameras.
Appearance Search
Avigilon Appearance Search allows the operator to quickly find a person of interest or vehicle across multiple cameras. It uses a combination of facial recognition and physical attributes such as clothing to narrow down the amount of footage required to search through.
Unusual Motion Detection (UMD)
Unusual Motion Detection is a video analytic that learns typical activity in a scene and then detect and log any unusual events. The operator is able to quickly search through hours of footage by focusing on atypical events that could require further investigation.
Avigilon Control Center (ACC) Software
ACC software is available in 3 editions to suit small to enterprise businesses. Avigilon Enterprise allows multiple servers to be deployed throughout a site or across multiple sites and be managed from a single interface.

Why choose a VMS over a Network Video Recorder (NVR)?
Video Management Systems provide advanced functionality compared to traditional DVR’s and NVR’s. A NVR or DVR traditionally provides ports for connecting cameras, hard drives for recording and basic software for viewing footage built into the recorder.
A VMS uses a Server for recording cameras which can be scaled to provide a high level of processing power and recording capacity. This allows the VMS to incorporate advanced features and analytics providing the operator with advanced feedback and easier management of footage when an incident occurs.
